This policy describes how Sideline Social (“we”, “us”) handles personal data for the service at sidelinesocial.io. Contact: jonah@sidelinesocial.io.
What we collect
- Account: email, username, password (stored hashed via our auth provider).
- Profile: teams you follow, avatar if you add one.
- Content: posts, comments, likes, and similar activity you publish.
- Live rooms: which games you join, so we can show the room and related activity.
- Technical: IP address, device/browser, and server logs from our host (needed to run and secure the site).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party advertising today.
How we use it
To create and run your account, show your feed and live rooms, keep the product working and secure, and communicate about the service (for example, if we have to).
Processors
We use infrastructure providers to host the app and database (currently Vercel and Supabase). They process data on our instructions.
Legal basis (EEA/UK)
We process account and content data to perform the contract of providing the service. We process security logs on the basis of legitimate interests in running a safe product.
Retention
We keep account and content data while your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and export of the content associated with your account, by emailing jonah@sidelinesocial.io. If you are in the EEA/UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use cookies/local storage required to keep you signed in and to run the app. We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
Sideline Social is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the effective date.
